Police Interceptor: black and white Model S in Sheriff livery from the rear

A Model S rebuilt from a stripped shell into a pursuit car for the LA County Sheriff.

Over 1,000 horsepower and 125 mph in six seconds: a silent pursuit car for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, built from a Model S that had been left for dead.

A car with a wild past

The car was seized after its buyer paid with fake documents. It was found in an apartment parking lot, stripped to the frame: bumper, doors, even the high-voltage battery taken out, and crucial parts damaged on the way.

Inside, the dashboard was dismantled, the screen shattered, the wires cut and tangled. The battery’s connectors were destroyed, so the car could not even power up.
